Michael Westmore, currently appearing on SyFy’s FACE OFF which his daughter McKenzie hosts, is a member of a makeup dynasty that dates back to Hollywood’s golden age.  His uncle Perc was head of Warner Bros. make up department for 30 years and he grew up on the lot where his mother was a hairdresser to Ronald Reagan and others.  Since 1917 almost every major studio had ‘a Westmore’ supervising their makeup departments.  Michael’s career has not been without its rewards as he has been the recipient of a record 42 Emmy Nominations and gifted with 9 Statuettes. The Motion Picture Academy has honored him with four Nominations and the Oscar in 1986 for his artistry on the film “Mask” with Cher and Eric Stoltz.

Comedy history will be made at the Burbank Comedy Festival, the first live comedy festival in Los Angeles, August 17 through 23.

The weeklong event will feature 200 amazing shows by up-and-coming comedians and national headliners Adam Carolla, Jeff Garlin, Joey Medina, Carlos Alazraqui, Brad Williams, Darren Carter, Jimmy Dore, Jimmy Shubert, Brian Dunkleman, and more to be announced. The Burbank Comedy Festival will be held in the Main Room, Yoo Hoo Room and Bar at Flappers Comedy Club, 102 E Magnolia Boulevard in Downtown Burbank.

The festival is dedicated to discovering America’s next comedy superstar.  By pairing emerging comedians with established headliners, the Burbank Comedy Festival will give the next generation of talent the opportunity to perform and connect with top entertainment professionals, to encourage live comedy, and do some funny business.

“Burbank is the media capital of the world, so it’s natural for us to host a comedy festival of epic proportions,” states Barbara Holliday, co-owner and founder of Flappers Comedy Club and the Burbank Comedy Festival. “With the world’s greatest comedians living or working in Burbank, the Burbank Comedy Festival will deliver the perfect platform to showcase their talent.”
