Romancing The Bean in Burbank

The Perfect Latte – It’s All About The Bean

She’s back, and better than ever!

That’s Ms. Kerry, the Cafe Aficionado who moved from downtown Burbank to the central location of Magnolia Park. “Romancing The Bean” is not just another coffee house, it offers an array of wholesome and delicious cuisine. How lucky we are to have it right in Magnolia Park. Walk in to an inviting decor combining French Chic and Cozy Coffee House with cement floors and unusual black and white chandeliers. My first impression was a very good one, both with the selection on the menu and the friendly service. You order at the counter, and because The Bean is so popular, sometimes seating is sparse.  However, well worth the visit. Top of the menu is titled, “Bread And Love” and all Sammy’s served with a side salad made with Balsamic Dressing.  I thoroughly enjoyed my well crafted Latte, and the pressed Turkey & Baby Swiss on Walnut Raisin Bread with Red Pepper Mayo. The flavors burst in my mouth and all I could think of was — perfection!  Salad lovers will be satisfied with 10 choices. Local Burbankians love the Kale & Brussels Sprout Salad (almonds, with lemon-mustard vinaigrette).  Weekly soup specials include; Avocado Tortilla Soup, offered veggie or vegan style. I remember her famous Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches from her original cafe on Magnolia Boulevard (formerly  east of this one) which little tykes as well as big tykes love.

Catering to the health conscious consumer, without sacrificing deliciousness! Raw inspiring caramel apple bars are organic, vegan, gluten free, made local and homemade. I love the range of healthy and tasty Smoothies to get your day going. Notably,  the cleansing juices that aid in removing toxins from the body. The 16-oz beet, carrot, apple and ginger is a very good choice.

Not by any means is the menu limited to non-meat eaters. In fact, Lunch is a good time to stop by for a Pastrami Reuben on Rustic Bread.

And let’s not forget the Triple-layer cakes, such as my personal favorite, the red velvet one! Kids will love the gourmet pop tarts  chocolate covered and freshly baked. Worthy of mentioning are the breakfast bakes; Provencal Croissant Bread Pudding, and the scrumptious Quiches.

As a Foodie, who is rather particular about where my food supply comes from, I know that here, I can count on integrity with a  detailed attention to ensuring fresh, local and organic (as often as possible) with every food and drink item is evident. Prices are reasonable considering the caliber of quality you are eating.  And I like that!

The proprietor  raises the bar in Burbank for cafe living with delicious cuisines  something for everyone.

In addition, the teas are lovely with a nice variety of high quality herbs and flowers. Presented in a beautiful glass French Press, the aroma and taste of the perfection you can expect when frequenting this establishment. Another example of the time and effort put into selecting only the finest quality of food and produce.

This much I can tell you, corners are not cut, and profit alone is not the motive. We have a friendly, community based cafe, and it is “Romancing” the locals.
