Andrea Bocelli: Hollywood Bowl June 18, 2019

REVIEW: Under the Stars with a Star!

If you have ever been to a Bocelli concert, then you know the experience lingers in your soul for many weeks. If you have not been to a Bocelli concert, then your soul yearns for the lingering experience. It should be on your bucket list. It was on mine, and I am completely satisfied with the iconic voice – no one alive today inspires and makes your spirit soar like Andrea Bocelli live and in concert. He is a true gift to humanity.

Arriving and parking at the Bowl was a nightmare. One must plan to arrive one and a half to two hours prior to the concert. Andrea begins on time and without an opening performer – so plan accordingly.

Bocelli’s set list was perfectly curated to include opera classics such as that from Puccini and Verdi and contemporary songs as well. From the stage, not only his miraculous voice, but his good looks and warm smile delighted the audience. The guest list included world-class performers such as Pia Toscano, Jamie Fox, Larisa Martinez (Soprano) Heather Headley (Jazz, pop singer), Caroline Campbell (violinist). But, the most touching and heart-warming guest was the introduction of Matteo Bocelli−Andrea’s il figlio and rising star. Matteo has a beautiful voice and is someone to watch in the coming years.

The evening’s song list comprised of La donna è mobile, Rigoletto – Overture,Duetto l Atto,En Aranjuez con tu amor,Amapola,Granada,Mamma,If Only,Fall On Me,Canto della Terra,Time to Say Goodbye, Funiculi Funicula…finale Nessun Dorma.

In his 70’s the master still has the crowd appeal, and the vocal chops to deliver an excellent and memorable performance.

This summer promises to be a great one at the Hollywood Bowl with many great artists and conductors.
This concert was on June 18, 2019 at the Hollywood Bowl.
