Center Stage Gallery Opens June 7th

Artist in Residence:

Born and raised in New York City, Peter Clarke developed a passion for magical creatures and mystical places at an early age.

The opening of Center Stage Gallery was Peter Clarke’s first art opening and felt like a New York smash! DawnsSisterPeterClarkeArtist

“Past, Pencil, Future” art of Peter Clarke was the gallery’s grand opening with the artist in residence. An Illustrator and Feature Film Animator, this was the artist’s first exhibit in a gallery and the Artist gave us an inside look of his personal and professional work at the private preview. We spoke with Peter Clarke briefly as he talked about one of his favorite paintings.

“This is a painting I painted about six months ago. What I was trying to talk about here is day and night. The name of the painting is, “Dawn’s Sister,” sister being night, the image of the sun going down, happy because I like happy things. The night is like a curtain dropping and she’s descending onto the orange. It’s like gravity almost taking effect; lowering the curtain on the day. And I’m shifting in the image, playing with some shapes and then again, the idea of things dropping and descending.  Also, giving her a crown because they are linked. This could be brother or sister or sisters, and they are linked. And that’s what it’s about.”

You can experience the “Past, Pencil, Future of young and talented artist, Peter Clarke for yourself at Center Stage Gallery, in Burbank, through June 30th.
