“Bombshell” a short film on Marilyn Monroe – Burbank Film Festival

In honor of the opening evening’s films, fans are invited to dress as the two legendary figures. World premiere of Marilyn Monroe-themed “Bombshell” and special screening of “Elvis: That’s the Way It Is” highlight the September 3rd event.

(Aug 29th – Burbank, CA) The Burbank International Film Festival will kick off its sixth annual edition with the world premiere of the provocative short film “Bombshell,” which offers a controversial take on Monroe’s last days alive. The evening ends with a special screening of the classic documentary “Elvis: That’s the Way It Is.” The other films to be shown that night include “Miles to Go,” “The Last Session” (starring Teri Polo) and “Recoil.”

Fans are encouraged to dress as the iconic figures, with a select few invited to walk the red carpet along with the many celebrities who will be on hand. Two other events during the festival also encourage fans to dress up, as the special screenings of “The Little Mermaid” and “Forbidden Planet ” on September 6th will feature attendees dressed in the spirt of the respective films.

Jeff Rector, head of the Festival, said “We’re so excited to be screening the World Festival Premiere of “Elvis: That’s The Way It Is” as part of the festival’s Opening Night celebration. We are encouraging Elvis fans and impersonators to email us their pictures as “The King” for possible inclusion on the website, with a chance to be on the Opening Night Red Carpet. We are also looking for Marilyn Monroe look-a-likes for the red carpet and party as well. We look forward to seeing you on “Opening Night!”
