Aloha, from Burbank!

If you missed this year’s 2nd Annual Luau produced by Burbank’s Castaway Restaurant, be sure not to miss all the festivities next year. Unexpectedly, it was outdoors, not in the famous restaurant. Starting at 5p.m. a Maui Sun was setting along the Hawaiian transformation off the path near the golf course. You are welcomed through the wooden gates with “Aloha” and flower lei to wear around your neck. It’s beginning to feel like ho’olaule’a (celebration)! The native Palm Trees were a perfect backdrop along with the waterfall, plenty of fun shopping for Hawaiian jewelry and gifts.  Then, a buffet feast – the centerpiece of the luau with delicious pineapple-terikayi chicken, sweet potatoes, salads, and plenty of authentic desserts.  At 8 p.m. the stage was set for our entertainment with acclaimed Island Performers to top off the night! The crowd joined in for a dance demonstration.

Until next year, Ho’olu komo la kaua (please join us).
